Wash Guidelines

SATIN

• If washing a satin blouse or tie with other items, place it in a mesh bag to prevent snags.
• Washing machine - select the delicate cycle, lower final spin speed, and cool or cold water setting on your washer.
• Set the washing machine on cold water (maximum 30 °C).

GEORGETTE

• Use a mild detergent.
• Soak your garment in a tub filled with cold water and detergent and move it around to let the soap distribute evenly.
• Squeeze the item to remove excess water and rinse.
• Do not wring the item so as to avoid stretching and pulling.

COTTON

• Fill the machine with cold water and use a gentle wash cycle to protect the colours.
• If you’re washing bright or dark cotton items, you may want to use a lower temperature wash at 30 degrees to help avoid colour fading and dye transfer.
• Dry most cotton items in the tumble dryer on a warm temperature setting.

IMPORTED POLYESTER

• Turn the fabric inside out.
• Wash using warm or cold water.
• Set the wash cycle to normal and use a gentle laundry detergent.
• Dry on air dry/low heat.

LINEN

• Wash your linen clothes on your machine’s gentle cycle
• Avoid washing in cold or very hot water.
• Do not crowd the washing machine with too many items at once. This can twist or pull the linen fabric out of shape.

VELVET

• Never iron
• Wash cold

WOOL

• Should be washed on the wool setting (usually gentle action at 40°C).
• Use the cold water wash.
• Use a neutral, mild detergent that is preferably Wool mark recommended.

HIGH END POLYESTER

• Set the wash cycle to normal.
• Can be washed using warm or cold water.
• Iron at low temperature.

LINEN SHEER SHIRT

• Washing machine should be set at delicate.
• Use the warm or cold setting.
• Soak in cold water before hand-washing.
• Iron at low temperature.

LEATHER

• No washing machine.
• Use dampened sponge and warm water to clean.
• Lay out flat on clean, dry towel to soak up extra moisture.

COTTON TWILL

• Cold gentle machine wash with like colours at 40˚ C
• Do not soak, wring, rub, bleach or tumble dry.
• Warm iron on reverse side.

VISCOSE FABRIC

• Use a light detergent with cold water.
• Choose the hand wash cycle in the washing machine.
• Do not wring or twist.
• Select the medium heat/silk heating setting.
